Will it work with the battery removed?

Several times, I've seen PowerBooks fail to work when the battery was DEAD.

I've seen a "dead" Duo work without the battery installed, and then crap
out when the DEAD battery was inserted.

So..... make sure you have a known good battery. Borrow one.
