check out the <http://www.XLR8YourMac.com> website for all kinds of
advice on adding harddrives.
As long as you have an IDE controller, you can pretty easily add or
replace them. If you don't know what kind of drives are currently in
your Mac you can look under the Apple Menu at System Profiler. You can
also go to <http://www.EveryMac.com> to look at every Mac and clone
that's been produced.
Your Mac should have an IDE drive in it. It doesn't matter if your
existing one is ATA/33, the ATA/66 is backwards compatible.
btw, I just bought a 40Gig DiamondMax 7200 RPM IDE drive for about $250
from Onvia.com
