Sounds very much like one of 2 things:
- The infamous Power Manager problem. You have to reset the power manager by
unplugging the computer, removing the battery, waiting for a few minutes, turning
aorund 3 times towards East while throwing salt behind you back, then going back to
the machine, pressing the reset button on the back continuously for about a minute -
then taking a deep breath, putting everything back. In my experience the machine
starts up automatically afer such a treatment but you may have to press the start or
reset button again. Variations to this theme are putting only the battery back or only
the power adaptor back - to see if one of them screws up things.
- If did not help and you see a continuous green light (not flashing) after you press
the reset button, then what you are dealing with is the dreaded Green Light of Death.
The name tells it all.
If you have a G3 upgrade and still have the original processor and you know how to put
it back, you may want to try and see if the G3 processor is bad. If it is, and is
under warranty, it will most likely be exchanged
Otherwise you will have to take it to your service center. Probably something major is
the problem.
