I run my 2300 in its Duo Dock II most of the time. I normally don't shut
it down overnight, primarily to avoid the need to restart & setup the
files that I'd been previously using. Sometimes I shut the display off,
for no particular reason other than to save power. The HD continues to
run, I think, due to the fact that I'm connected to the @home network.

Question: Since the hard drive doesn't shut down during the long periods
of non use, would it be better (considering the life of the HD) to shut
the system down overnight & then re-start it in the morning or is the
useful life of the HD so long that it really doesn't matter?
