i remember that this issue came up early in the life of this list, and we
sort of realized that we were really dealing with subportable
powerbooks--thus the duos and 2400s being lumped together.

i daresay that many of us also own and use both duos and 2400c's (or would
want to)--it's a natural progression if you love duos for their size (the
2400c weighs exactly the same as a 230 or 250 at 4.2 pounds, same dimensions
even, almost).

i myself came to duos the other way around--by owning a 2400c first; when
that broke down and had to go to texas (apple repair) for an ungodly seven
months (another story in itself), i bought up a batch of five bad duos, got
rich wolfson's guide to powerbooks, and taught myself how to open and fix
those babies. i've been a duo addict ever since, even if i now have my 2400c
back.

i wish there was a way of making it easier for the strictly-duos-only crowd
among us to filter out the 2400c stuff, but you'd be surprised how much
there is you can learn about powerbooks as a whole by following both main
threads.

cheers
jose (now in the uk, soon returning to manila)
