An easy way to get to javits Center from Penn Station is the #34 bus (Westbound); you can catch it on the North side of 34th street. If you want to buy Mac related stuff, there are 2 good stores in Manhattan, 1: DataVision on Fifth Ave and 38-39 streets, across the street from (uuughhh...) CompUSA. You can take the Eastbound 34 bus , get off at Fifth Ave and walk up a few blocks. A real Apple haven is J&R Computer World all the way Downtown. Perhaps the easiest way to get there is to catch the #2 or #3 downtown trains at 34th and Seventh (transfer is free to and from the 34 bus with the farecard) and go to Park Place. At 34th and Sixth you can cath the downtown N or R trains and go to City Hall Station. These stops are a few blcoks from the store, ask around. They usually have some specials during Macworkd Expos, check out their website which is, I believe, www.jandr.com. Please be sure to check out the haut cuisine of NY dining - the hot dog vendors, usually there is a few of them around the Javits Ctr. If you sick of computers, you can walk up a few blocks along the Hudson River and check out the Navy ship museum (some warship with fighter planes, pretty impressive). You can also walk down some 10 blocks to the Circle Line and other cruise ships. Otherwise the Hudson riverfront is a dead wasteland. For more fun you will have to go inward of Eighth Ave. Beware: the Disneyfied 42nd Street is dangerously close!. It is really hazardous to one's psyche. Don't go there unless yoou are interested in theme parks and want to spend a lot of many on te worst food and the sleaziest crooks in NYC.
