Feasible, yes. A good idea, definitely not. A compact flash memory card is
slow, probably slower than the internal Hard Drive, especially if you use a
USB interface. The CF card can only be written to about 60000 times before
the memory refuses to be copied to again and the card dies. This means you
would probably have about a few weeks worth of use, which is probably not a
good thing. Of course many of these problems disappear if you use an IBM
CF+ MicroDrive, which is really a very small Hard Drive and can be written
to much more and is much more expensive.
