I use a NeXT keyboard with my 2400c when I'm in my office.
<http://www.rackhenge.net/images/chucksdesk.jpeg> A slightly outdated
picture, as I now have a Dr. Bott ADB moniswitch in the equation. To
that I have added a B&W G3, and a couple of old Macs (a 9150 and a
WGS95 running A/UX... yes I am a glutton for old weird UNIX machines!)

With standard install of MacOS 8.6 and no extra keyboard/mouse
controlling extensions, all keys function properly with the exception
of:
* Monitor brightness
* Sound Volume
* The right-hand mouse button.
The big friendly green powerkey works fine, as does the funky
keyboard-frame 'command' key (works like the "Apple" key.)

I have yet to try any software that might enable the 2nd mouse button.

I use it because I much prefer the position of the 'Control' key,
which is where it belongs, adjacent to "A" and between tab & shift.
That useless 'caps lock' is relegated to the far bottom left key. I
hope to grab a YU-Plan keyboard for the 2400 itself at some point as
it has a similar layout. My only complaint about the key layout is
the position of the 'help' keys on either side of the spacebar. A
stray swipe at the space bar will provoke help balloons to start
popping up all over. It appears the YU-Plan has two command keys
there. =)

Plus the keys have a nice firm stroke to them similar to an (I'm
*really showing my age here) old IBM electric typewriter.

I also *really* like the NeXT 'puck' mouse. It is a very nice
ergonomic design, that is very comfortable to use all day. I may seek
out software to enable the second mouse button, if only for the
friday night frag quake sessions here at the office.

I have 3 NeXT machines, of which only one is running (the others have
been salvaged for parts.
