I've decided to go the edgy, install it myself route for upgrading the 2400
harddrive (actually I have Ted the electrical engineer with experience with
telcom systems, whos picture is next to the words 'meticulous' and
'obseesively stray voltage concious' in the dictionary, to do the
installation). I found a bargain on Travelstar drives, but when I looked
them up on the IBM site there's a whole bunch of them. The FAQ on the 2400
site says "no higher than 12.5 mm, and meet apple's power specs. " A trip
to the Apple site, didn't provide me with the power specs. Anyone know what
model numbers of the Travelstar drives work in the 2400.

Also, I don't understand why the 4 GB SCSI mode limit is an issue. Can I
install and use bigger than 4 G drives? I see this on the list frequently,
but it significance is not something I understand.

Thanks,
Babbette
