Steve, I've had success with disassembling the keyboard and cleaning the 
contacts with a contact cleaner (looks like a big white eraser, used to clean 
electrical contacts....probably could use a SOFT eraser to get same results). 
 Pop all keys off, check the mylar sheets (sometimes there are damaged 
runs....don't know of a way to fix those) and clean the "half-moon" shaped 
contacts on either side of each keycap post.  It is important to ensure that 
all the "dust" is off the sheets ( I wash them in isopropyl alcohol to make 
sure) and then reassemble.  I've fixed about 15 kbds or so doing this.

Let me know how it fares if you try it.
