No, I'm afraid a 68k mac is too slow to play a MP3 file. Bear in mind
that Soundjam MP requires a 100+MHz PPC, roughly four or five times
faster than the fastest MP68040.
You can download SoundApp at
http://www-cs-students.stanford.edu/~franke/SoundApp/#download if
you still don't have it and use it to convert your MP3 files to
another format that you can use. This you can do on your 280c. As for
the choice of formats available, you may care to have a look at
http://www-cs-students.stanford.edu/~franke/SoundApp/formats.html.
