I would recommend getting a car adapter for the 2400, which can also be used 
for other models, and also getting a video battery pack, a 12 volt model, 
which you can get for around $80 at various video outlets.  The dc car 
adapter would then plug into the battery pack which has the cigarette outlet 
built into it.  
I've used this very successfully now for years.  The battery pac listed here 
for $400 is certainly nice and slim, but you can get less expensive packs 
that will do the trick as well.
