I've been using Retrospect / Retrospect Remote for several years,
but not on a 2400. There's no way I know of that it can delete files,
but maybe you've got Retrospect Express - it might be a bit different.
E-me if you want to describe more about what's happening, or I could
show you what my backup sets look like, since the manuals are rather
obtuse.

You could also try Dantz Tech Support - they're pretty good about
helping out, better than most places I've tried for tech help.
