I teach computers in a High School and the PC's are always in need of something
or other, while the Mac's almost never need any work. You PC folks have been
brainwashed into thinking that working on your computer is normal and just
because you can (or are forced into learning) fix them yourself, then
everything is OK. I want to use my computer, now have it as a constant repair
project.

Each person's experience is anectdotal and maybe random. FWIW, I have the same
experience as Jonah. I've used Macs for 14 years starting with the first little
guy in 1986, and never touched a PC until 2 years ago. I find the PCs far more
reliable, the Macs constantly crash. Only advantage to Macs is that software is
easier to install/unistall. Jonah is also right that PCs are easy to build and
maintain yourself -- it is not a matter of being "forced" into learning, anyone
can learn and doing it yourself is a way to get a reliable and powerful computer
relatively cheap.
