Hey all, Got a couple of 280c's off eBay (for me & my college-bound daughter, 230 for the middle schooler). Recently went on my first business trip w/ the 280c and now see some things need fine tuning. Mostly, the Type 4 batteries I have really don't give me more than about an hour each. Now, for the PB 1x0 series, there was a flat external battery that had, I believe, a couple of hours worth of charge, but the plugs don't appear as if they'd work with a Duo (we still have one of these flat battery's at work). Is there such a critter for the Duos?? Now, of course, the other thing is doing better w/ what I've got, so... would a newer (and, happily, bigger) HD be more power efficient? I also know that with early PBs, many recommended getting enough RAM to put the System Folder into RAMdisk, but given the level to which RAM for the Duos has climbed, I'm not sure if that's practical. Thoughts? Finally, way back when I remember seeing a little widget for the PB1x0 series that was an adapter for the power jack that allowed you to plug in a 9V battery. The idea was, put PB to sleep, plug widget + battery in, swap your depleted battery for a charged one, etc. Anyone know of one of those that exists for Duos??? Thanks. - Eric. ---------- Duo/2400 List, The friendliest place on the Net! A listserv for users and fans of Mac subportables.
