in solaris gives
root@t00-dns0:~# df -k /tmp 2>/dev/null | awk 'END{pos=(NF-2);if(pos>0) print
$pos;}'
243574044
and in linux
Filesystem 1K-blocks Used Available Use% Mounted on
/dev/mapper/vg_root-lv_tmp
5951424 1904064 3740160 34% /tmp
