On bzr, 1 branch per developer is enough, and since we have 1 repository per developer, it's natural to have one branch per repository. I suppose using Git w/ many repos/branches might be considered unnatural. Well so be it -- let Nature stand awed by the D in the DVC! I wouldn't say what you did is bad practice, but it's probably unnecessary complexity for Stefan ;-). Everyone has their threshold of patience and tolerance of complexity, which sometimes changes w/ time.
