I don't make much use of memories anymore, especially once the tag system came into being. For whatever reason, I just preferred to bookmark other ppl's entries and tag my own. But I was wondering if the memory system could just be tossed completely if ppl could tag other ppl's posts; the post wouldn't have to display the tag or anything, but the tagger could find it through their own tag-list or something like that. I don't know; I am not a programmer and am not familiar with the lj code, so I don't know how easy it would be to just convert the memory system into the tag system, but there you go. From my very uninformed perspective, the only difference, usage-wise, between tags and memories is that tags are displayed on the post itself and you can't tag other ppl's posts. But I guess in terms of programming it could be ridiculously huge, haha. orz
