It would, especially since the reason there are multiple communities is often because people are fighting with each other. I know the reason there are several steampunk sales comms is because a lot of people don't like the person who started the first one; she has a very particular idea of what steampunk is and deletes posts other people had no problem with. (I like her, this is not an attack on her, just a statement of what happened.) Also, a lot of things don't get cross-posted between the modesty communities because we don't all get along. I know there's one where the mod of that comm and I have mutually banned each other from each other's communities; mine's interfaith and I will jump down your throat with boots on if you try to convert women of different faiths (or none), or say anything that implies sexual assault victims are in any way at fault for what happens to them, no matter how they're dressed; hers is...well, not like mine. You'd still have multiple comms, because people WILL disagree with each other vehemently about what is and isn't steampunk and whether or not modest dress prevents rape (WTF WTF WTF); but if all for sale items have to be posted to classifieds, discussions would be splintered, but sales wouldn't be. (Which would make sales better; I really don't care what you believe if you want to buy my skirt, as long as I don't have to listen to loads of it...)
