Hi!

Let me start off by saying "I know nothing about wikis". That said,
neither does Ursie, who was the other option of someone in channel
typing something up, so here we go. It seems to us (that's the royal,
British "us", not just "Ursie & me") that there are two issues: (1)
is "how do wikis work" and (2) is "how do the DW wikis work"?

(1) is pretty straightforward. Start off with:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:How_to_edit_a_page

You'll probably find the Wiki Markup stection very useful. Then if
you need more info head on over to:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Howtos

That should give you a reasonable grounding.

(2) is basically: you jump in and start editing stuff. The lovely
Ursie has taken a bit of a first-pass through the page and made it a
leeeeeetle bit more obvious What Goes Where, but if you think there
needs to be another section then Go For It! (tm)

Honestly, Dreamwidth doesn't have a level of rules and regs that are,
shall we say, sophisticated. The motto is "jump in and start a-
typin'" more than anything else.

I heartily recommend the IRC channel if you fancy a bit of
handholding and "wait, how do I make a text link again?" type stuff.
Feel free to email me off-list if you need help getting into IRC.

Cheers,

--John
