Many development-type people have asked what kind of projects they
can work on that would be quick and easy, as an introduction to the
codebase (which is, I'm very sorry to say, sort of a Fetid Shambling
Horror of the Deep in some cases, while being very well-architected
and well-maintained in others). I thought it would be a good time to
toss out a link to some of our "effort-minor" bugs -- things that
should be accomplishable in a few hours.

http://bugs.dwscoalition.org/buglist.cgi?keywords=effort-
minor&resolution=--- is our list of bugs keyworded "effort-minor".
Some of these require some familiarity with the codebase, but others
are very much "jump in and do"! Here's eight "effort-minor" items
that might interest someone, a combination of enhancements and bugfixes:

http://bugs.dwscoalition.org/show_bug.cgi?id=28: Download CSV of poll
results.

http://bugs.dwscoalition.org/show_bug.cgi?id=26: Display how a person
answered all questions of a poll.

http://bugs.dwscoalition.org/show_bug.cgi?id=92: Cross-site use of
<lj user> tags.

http://bugs.dwscoalition.org/show_bug.cgi?id=119: Fix improper
escaping on emailed private messages.

http://bugs.dwscoalition.org/show_bug.cgi?id=132: Inbox sub-filter
refreshes to wrong page when deleting all items.

http://bugs.dwscoalition.org/show_bug.cgi?id=48: Respect lj-cut in
the inbox (user-defined parameter)

http://bugs.dwscoalition.org/show_bug.cgi?id=31: "Expand all comments
on page" option

http://bugs.dwscoalition.org/show_bug.cgi?id=5: Add "current mood of
service" toy

If you're the type who likes starting off with a more involved
project, meanwhile, here are some self-contained "effort-medium" or
"effort-major" projects that you might want to grab and run with:

http://bugs.dwscoalition.org/show_bug.cgi?id=53: Userpic keyword
renaming

http://bugs.dwscoalition.org/show_bug.cgi?id=25: Display poll
question cross-correlation

http://bugs.dwscoalition.org/show_bug.cgi?id=52: Spamassassin plugin
for @dreamwidth.org email addresses
