Medium-term, this is the plan -- to allow you to read your $othersite  
friends list through your Dreamwidth reading page. It's a hard  
problem, though, and we weren't able to solve it 100% ready-for-prime- 
time by open beta. Currently, syndicated feeds are your only option  
for reading public content, and there's no option for reading friends- 
locked content from other services. Feeds also aren't connected to  
OpenID accounts.
