Hi,

No this does not fix the issue. When going from one tag to the other and
back the z-ordering seems to be restored to the order in which clients
were "created" (float mode).
Could you please try r442 ?

Hi,

I tried this now and the z-ordering is preserved (I had three xterms in
floating mode overlapping each other) after cycling with mod-mouse1,
mod-tab, or shift-mod-tab. However, there is again the strange problem
that mod-tab only cycles between two of the three clients (this does not
occur with shift-mod-tab).

The problem seems to be converging...

I can't reproduce this, three xterms on the same tag with only one tag visible, mod+tab cycled through all three as did mod+tab+shift.

I am using the "updated" 1.4 that was posted earlier. Is performing superbly in my corner.
