Yes, on Slackware too, as soon as I upgraded to gtk 2.10.9. I found a thread a while ago on the Arch Linux forums[1] where people running e17, fluxbox, openbox, and dwm were all having the same problem. Someone in that thread solved the problem by downgrading GTK, so that's what I did too.
Ah, interesting, so it happens with other wm as well. I'm using arch linux and gtk 2.10.12 , and have the same problem, and it's quite annoying indeed. here is the thread : http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=31355
