DX travelers.... prior to your carrying a transmitter into a nation OR THRU THE AIRPORT OF ANY NATION (as a Transit Passenger), check for those nation's regulations re incoming radios. I am becoming acutely aware of countries which can (CAN) grab ur radio as you enter or as you pass through their borders (or just deny entry). Beware. Of course, there is virtually no safe place to temporarily store your radio at an airport these days of no lockers, etc. Another problem with this factor is that, in the event you want to take your radio to another nation to help at the site of a disaster, few if any countries have automatic exemptions even in such cases.
