I just heard from Dave W1GDQ's wife that Dave passed away in his sleep yesterday, June 6th. He was an avid DXer for many years. My fondest memory of Dave was his pushing me, back in the summer of 1977, while on an internship with MIT, to get back into ham radio and also kindled my interest in DXing. I found his shack (he lived in the same house as I) after a walk around the house when I moved there found a tall tower well hidden in trees in the back yard. Followed the coax into the house, and the rest, as they say, is history.
I believe his last one was BS7H, and I will always remember printing that label, to put the ribbon on a 30 plus year friendship. RIP Dave, and thanks for being my mentor OM! 73 Steve KU9C ----------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe or subscribe to this list send a message to [EMAIL PROTECTED] In the message body put either unsubscribe dx-news or subscribe dx-news This is the DX-NEWS reflector sponsored by the NJDXA http://njdxa.org -----------------------------------------------------------
