*** SPECIAL NOTE FROM EDITOR: This week's bulletin was very difficult to
put together since I had to do it remotely from an EZ-Chair in my
living room. Operation on my knee on Thursday was worse than expected.
I am currently wearing an immobilizer on my right leg and "trying"
my best to move around on crutches without putting weight on the
right leg. NOT EASY. Hopefully, the immobilizer will be removed
    late Wednesday.

DX0, SPRATLY ISLANDS (Update). Jim Linton/VK3PC, DX0DX Public Affairs,
reported to OPDX on July 9th: "DX0DX DXpedition 2011 Spratly Islands -
Update report 10 July 2010 - (edited) The Team headed by Chris Dimitrijevic,
VK3FY, continues to work towards completing a range of matters mainly
related to the logistics that go with such a large and prolonged DXpedition
on a remote island.
A multi-national group of up to 30 amateur radio operators from eleven
countries will reach Thitu Island in the South China Sea by boat in three
dedicated teams to put DX0DX on air January 6-24th, 2011.
In the past week with a change in local government leadership on the
island, Chris, VK3FY, reports it has been re-assuring that the level of
support and encouragement from officials remains strong.
The appointed DX0DX QSL Manager is Bob Schenck, N2OO, who has a very
good track record in handling the QSLing for more than 100 DXpeditions.
In early online polling on the DX0DX website www.dx0dx.net of the DX
community on the mode that DX0DX is wanted was fairly evenly divided
between SSB (37%), CW (35%) and RTTY (28%), and there's an even spread
of band preference 160m to 10m.
So far the VHF & UHF bands rate poorly, but undoubtedly when DX0DX has
propagation it will be in great demand. The chosen HF, VHF & UHF frequencies
appear on the DXpedition website. For those interested in 6m, a propagation
beacon will run on 50.090MHz when the band is closed.
With six months to go before DX0DX gets on air, Chris, VK3FY, reports
that steady progress is being made to seek further sponsorship and
funding support. It is hoped more announcements will be made in coming
months.
To date the corporate sponsors are ICOM America, SteppIR, Spiderbeam,
WX0B Array Solutions, Ham Radio Outlet, and Heil Sound. It is hoped to be
able make more announcements in coming months.
The DX0DX Team acknowledges the financial support already received from
individual radio amateurs Brad/WA6JJB, Paul/N6PSE, Marc/DO4DXA, Maurice/
N4LZ, Vic/W4VIC, Ken/N5TY, Allan/VK2CA, Paul/VK2HV, Scotty/KG9Z and
Clay/K7HC.
Support has also been given by the IARU Region 3 member society Philippine
Amateur Radio Association (PARA), DXWORLD.NET, and ClubLog.ORG."

HS0, THAILAND. Look for HS0AC to be on 6 meters for the CQ World Wide VHF
Contest (July 17-18th).

I3/I5, ITALY. Alain, F5LMJ, will be I5/F5LMJ from Oscane between July
17-24th and I3/F5LMJ from Venetia until July 31st. He will be mostly on

on 80-10 meters. QSL via his home callsign or LoTW.

TC90, TURKEY (Special Key). A group of Turkish radio amateurs from TRAC
Manisa Branch will be working as TC90AA to commemorate the 90th anniversary
of "Anadolu Ajansi". Operations will take place during the month of July,
2010. The "Anadolu Agency" (AA)(Turkish: Anadolu Ajansi) is the Turkish
state news agency commissioned with producing news releases pertaining to
the country. The agency was set up on April 6, 1920, by Mustafa Kemal
Ataturk, the founder of the Turkish Republic during the Turkish War of
Independence, and is the biggest news agency of Turkey. During July 2010,
TRAC Manisa Branch will be operating on all HF bands using CW, SSB and
BPSK31 modes during the celebration. The main operators will be: Urcun/TA0U
(SSB), Tevfik/TA1HZ (PSK), Serkan/TA2JN (SSB), Mehmet/TA3EV (SSB/PSK),

TI, COSTA RICA (Youth DX Adventure 2010). Operators from Ohio, Kansas and
Colorado will be heading here between July 15-19th, as a team of youth
operators and guardians to be on the air. This DX Adventure was created
to give young hams an opportunity to experience HF-DXing from the other
side of a pileup, learning logging, good operating skills, propagation,
and a great "what I did this summer" story when they return to middle and
high school this fall. Please listen for, work, cluster spot, and support
this effort to mentor our youth in amateur radio operating/DX'ing. The
team will be on all bands, 160-6 meters and most modes (CW, SSB, RTTY and
PSK). All operators will be signing TI5/homecall. They will be attempting
to operate 2 stations at all times. Please QSL via their home callsign
w/SASE or SAE if overseas. eQSL and LoTW will be at the discretion of the
individual operators as not all use these services. This and future youth
team groups depend on your club, organization, and individual donations to
make this great program an annual event. For more details and info on the
operators, visit: http://www.qsl.net/n6jrl

TK, CORSICA. Patrice/F5RBB and Mireille F0FRL will be active as TK/homecall

focused on the CQ VHF Contest. They plan to look for EU and AS during the
week of operation, but also for USA stations that might need a new band
country. San (V31YY) informs OPDX that he will concentrate on 60m at the
top of the hour after sunset each night and hopes to mainly listen for EU
