Why?? That is almost the worst possible time for anywhere
in the Pacific: JA, KH6, ZL, VK, or DU !! 1000z is the middle
of the night in the Pacific basin.

1000z is 1 AM in Hawaii!! And the signals on 17 meters are at or
near zero microvolts.

Best times seem to be 0400z through 0530z and the best bands
are 20 meters (best of bunch), 17meters and 15 meters, at least
all as predicted by W6EL's propagation prediction program.
I could hear TN3W yesterday (2230z)on 18145; she obviously never
heard me, as all her returns, when she was QRZ for 6's and 7's
was to the US mainland, not Hawaii, ever. Why, again W6EL
program says that mid-day in the Pacific here is not really any
better than the middle of the night. Above "best times" are
closer to Pacific evening gray line conditions. Short path
is near polar, also for Hawaii.

For whatever this info is worth.
