09/01/2002:  Look for EA5/DK5IM/P to be active on CW from the Alicante /
Murcia Province group (EU-093) September 1st to 11th. QSL via DK5IM. [tnx

09/01/2002:  Jean-Luc, F5AEP, will stay in Papeete (OC-046) for the next two
years starting on September 1st. His callsign has not been announced yet.
During these two years he also plans to visit several other islands like the
Marquesas or Gambier Island.

09/01/2002:  Oleg (UA1PBA) and Alex, will be active again as R1ANF/A, from
the Uruguayan station "General Jose Artigas" (WABA CX-01) during the first
two weeks of September. Oleg and Alex will also try to operate from the
Brazilian refuge "Padre Balduino Rambo" (WABA PY-???), the Korean station
"King Sejong" (WABA HL-01) and the Chilean base "Profesor Julio Escudero"
(WABA CE-11). All of the scientific stations mentioned so far are located on
King George Island, in the South Shetlands (IOTA AN-010). Look for daily
activity on CW (on +/- 10106, 14011, 18076, 21011, 24906 and 28011 kHz) and
on SSB during the Antarctic Net on Mondays (21275 kHz at 17:00 UTC). QSL via

09/01/2002:  Michael, VE3WMB (ARLHS member #428), will be activating five
Lighthouses on the Island of Grand Manan (IOTA NA-014), New Brunswick,
during the week of September 1st to September 6th. Operation will be on or
about 14.071 Mhz as VE3WMB/VE9. Note, this will be a 20M PSK31 (QRP) only
operation. The list of lighthouses to be activated are: Gannet Rock (ARLHS
CAN-192); Swallowtail (ARLHS CAN-491); Southwest Head (ARLHS CAN-469); Long
Eddy Point (ARLHS CAN-283) and Long Point (Whitehead Island ARLHS CAN-644).
Michael hopes to operate daily from about 15:00 - 17:00 UTC, activating a
different lighthouse each day, then perhaps again a bit later 00:00 - 01:00
UTC activating Gannet Rock (he has a clear view of the light from his

09/01/2002:  Victor, ZK1CG, reports that he will be signing again as ZK1USA
during the month of September in commemoration of September 11th. Victor
operates from Rarotonga (OC-013) in the South Cook Islands. QSL via ZK1CG.

09/02/2002:  Serge, RA9MX/p, will be QRV September 2, 2002, from
Mar`janovsky area (RDA OM-22 for the Russian Districts Award, Omskaya

09/02/2002:  Hardy, SM1/DL3KWF, and Rosel, SM1/DL3KWR, will be QRV from
Gotland Island (EU-020), in CW, during the morning and evening hours from

09/03/2002:  Kevin, ON1DRE, and others will operate as GJ/ON1DRE from Jersey
(EU-013) September 3rd to 10th. Theirs will be a 6 and 2 meter operation.

09/03/2002:  Look for OZ/DL6LZM to be active from Fyn Island (EU-172, FY-001
for the Danish Islands Award) between September 3rd and 6th. QSL via home
call.

09/04/2002:  Tom, DL2RMC, and Hartmut, DM5TI, will be QRV from Sardinia
(EU-024) as IS0/home call September 4th to 13th. Operation will be CW, SSB,
RTTY, SSTV, and PSK31 on 160-2m. QSLs via their respective home calls.

09/05/2002:  Christian, DL6KAC, reports he will be active again as
EA6/DL6KAC from Mallorca Island (EU-004, DIE E-021) starting September 5th
until late September-early October. He will operate on 10-80 meters mainly

09/05/2002:  Alex/UR4LUG, Oleg/UR3IFD, Leo/UT2II and Vit/UX7IM will be
active as EM5UIA from Kosa Tuzla Island (EU-180) September 5 to 10, 2002.
They plan to operate on 20-10 metres SSB, CW and RTTY with beam and vertical

Kharkov, 61018, Ukraine) or through the bureau.

09/05/2002:  JO1EPY/6 will once again to be active from Tokara Island
Kuchinoshima (AS-049) between September 5th and 8th. Look for him on 6, 10,
12, 15, 17 and 40 meters SSB and CW. QSL direct (Hiroshi Kotoku, 3-4-19

09/05/2002:  Look for UE0OBI/p to be active from Bolshoy Ushkaniy Island
(RRA RR-21-02, RFF-123 for the Russian Flora and Fauna Award) September 5th

09/06/2002:  Pedro, HK3JJH, will be active from Isla Palma (SA-078)
September 6th to 9th. He will also activate Isla del Pirata [Rosario Island]
(SA-040) September 11th and 12th. The call will be HK3JJH/1 and operation
will be mainly on 14260, 21260 and 28460 kHz +/- QRM. QSL direct to Pedro's
home address (Pedro J. Allina, PO Box 81119 Bogota Colombia) as he does not

09/06/2002:  The call KH0R from Saipan, Northern Marianas (OC-086), will be
activated by JE6DND between September 6th and 10th. QSL via JE6DND.

09/06/2002:  Ela, DL3YMK, and Torsten, DH3YMG, will spend their holidays on
Bornholm Island (IOTA EU-030, BO-001 for the Danish Islands Award, Loc
JO74MX) from September 6th to 20th. They intend to work on 80m-23cm; on HF
look for them at ..260 kHz. During the evening they plan to activate
2m/70cm/23cm. More information is available on the website:

09/06/2002:  The Radio Amateur Union of North Aegean will be active
September 6th to 8th, 2002, as SZ8LH. They will be QRV from Lesvos Island
(EU-049 Loc: 39o12N-25o50E) and Megalonisi lighthouse (GR-7130, ARLHS
GRE-097). The team will consist of SV8QG, SV8CRI, SV8DCY, SV8DTD, SV8DBO,
SV8DCW, SV8BEV and SV8DTL. Operation will be 160 through 2 meters, all

09/06/2002:  PS7ZZ, PS7TKS and PS7KC will operate (on 10-80 metres CW, SSB,
PSK31 and RTTY) as ZW7NDG from Bacopari Lighthouse (DFB RN-08, ARLHS
BRA-014) September 6th to 8th. QSL via PS7ZZ (bureau or direct to: Francisco

Natal, Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil).

09/07/2002:  The United Radio Amateur Club, K6AA, will be active from 00:00
UTC September 7th to 23:59 UTC September 8th to commemorate the 75th
anniversary of URAC/Tall Ships 2002 in LA. Frequencies: 7.275, 7.075, 14.275

09/07/2002:  The Namdal Group of NRRL will be active as LA7N/p and take part
in the Region 1 Field Day between 1300z September 7th and 1300z September
8th. The multi-operation will take place on Borgan Island (EU-062, Loc
JP54KX) with five stations on 160-10 meters SSB/CW/PSK/RTTY, 6m, 2m and 70cm
SSB-FM, also some satellite operation. You will find them 5-10 kHz below the
usual IOTA frequences (+/-QRM) - CW: 1825, 3525, 7025, 14025, 21025 and
28025 kHz; SSB: 1850, 3750, 7050, 14250, 21250 and 28450 kHz. QSL via

09/07/2002:  Look for M/DK1RF to be active from the English Islands Group
(EU-120) September 7 to 13, 2002. QSL via home call.

09/07/2002:  The Radio Amateur Society of Norwich, N1NW, will be active
between 10:00 UTC September 7 to 16:00 UTC September 8 from New London Ledge
Lighthouse (ARLHS USA-542). The lighthouse is located in New London County,
New London harbor, New London, CT. Frequencies: 7.270, 14.270, 21.370 and

09/07/2002:  Look for RX3VA/p and UA3VCS/p to be active September 7 to 8,
2002, from "Meschera" National Park (RFA-129 for the Russian Flora and Fauna
Award, RDA VL-16 (Khrustalny Area) for the Russian Districts Award,

09/07/2002:  Lorenzo, IK6PTH, reports that he will be active (SSB) as S79TH
from Mahe, Seychelles (AF-024) between September 7th and 16th. QSL via home

09/08/2002:  Vasek, DL4FF, reports he will be active from Corsica (EU-014)
between September 8th and October 4th. Operation will be on 160 through 10
meters, CW and SSB, as TK/DL4FF. QSL via home call, either direct or through
the bureau.

09/09/2002:  A team of ARI Taranto operators (IJ7/I7XUW, IJ7/IK7BPV,
IJ7/IZ7AUH, IJ7/IK7AFM, IJ7/IZ8AJQ, IJ7/IW7BVY, IJ7/IK7MJA, IJ7/IGFS,
IJ7/IZ8DBJ, IJ7/IK7WDS, IJ7/IK7NYD, IJ7/IK7FFX, IJ7/I7YYZ, IJ7/IK7MCJ and
IJ7/IZ7EUC) to be active from Isola San Pietro (IOTA EU-073, IIA TA-002),
September 9th to 15th. Activity will be on HF and 6 meters on
CW/SSB/Digital. QSL to their home callsigns via the Bureau or direct. This
activity will celebrate ARI Taranto's 35th anniversary.

09/09/2002:  Kazu, JA0VSH (V63KZ) and his wife Miyuki, JG0PBJ (V63MP) will
be active from Pohnpei (OC-010), Micronesia between September 9 and 15,
2002. They expect to operate on 80-10 meters SSB and CW. QSL via home calls
either direct (Kazuhide and Miyuki Maruyama, 2-16-8-206 Kinuta, Tokyo,
157-0073 Japan) or through the JARL bureau.

09/10/2002:  Massimo, IZ4DPV will operate (on 10-20 metres SSB) as
3B8/IZ4DPV from Mauritius Island (AF-049) September 10 to 20, 2002. QSL via

of Mike, 5B4AGX between September 12 and 18, 2002. He hopes to get some
operating in (SSB and CW) from Mike's shack, signing 5B/G3PMR. QSL via home

09/14/2002:  Didier, F6ELE, and Joel, F5PAC, will operate from Cezembre
Island (EU-157) between September 14th and 15th. They plan to be active on

09/14/2002:  Spike, W7AVA, will be active as V63VB from Pohnpei (OC-010),
Micronesia September 14th to 23rd. QSL via home call, CBA.

09/15/2002:  Toshi, JA1ELY, Project Planner, reports that they are pleased
to announce that several Japanese groups will operate as 8N1OGA from
Ogasawara Islands. Between September 15th and the end of January 2003, the
special station will be active to commemorate 75 years since Japan Amateur
Radio League (JARL) was founded. Preliminary license has been already issued
by Japanese Telecommunication authority, which permits all modes including
satellite and one kilowatt output on normal bands and 500 watts on 6 meter
band. They will operate two complete stations with yagi beams on self
supporting towers and dipoles and GP antennas for low bands. They will
aggressively participate in upcoming major DX contests such as the CQWW
Phone, CQWW CW and JIDX Phone Contest. They will particularly be looking for
Europe and the East Coast of North America on low bands (For them to be able
to do this, they will put up antennas that can be viewed over the Pacific
Ocean!!). The current details of the operation schedule is as follows: Sept
15-18th JE1CKA, JF1PJK, JM1RFT, JR1AIB (A constraction team, limited
operation); Sept 27-Oct 5th JQ2EHG, JO1LVZ; Oct 2-5th JI2UNR; Oct 8-16th
7K3EOP, WA1S; Oct 20-23th Unknown; Oct 26-29th JA1WSX, JS1DLC; Oct 26-Nov
4th JA1MRM, JA1LZR; Nov 8-11th JO1RUR, JP1JFG; Nov 14-23th Unknown; Nov
27-30th JA1ELY, JA1IDY; Dec 4-24th Unknown; Dec 27th-Jan 1st JA7AYE; Dec
31st-Jan 4th JA1WSX and Jan 4-31st Unknown. QSLs will be available for all
QSOs via the Bureau unless you request SAE with one IRC to the manager. If

Saipan, Northern Marianas (OC-086) September 15th to 18th. He will be active

09/15/2002:  YL operators Elizabeth/VE7YL (CW), June/VK4SJ, Mio/JR3MVF,

09/20/2002:  Take, JI3DST/8, will once again be active September 20 to 23,
2002, from Okushiri Island (AS-147). Look for him on 10, 12, 15, 17 and 40

09/20/2002:  Look for JI5USJ/4 and JI5RPT/4 to be active from Oki Island
(AS-041) starting around 12:00 UTC September 20 until around 00:00 UTC
September 24, 2002. Operation will be on 160 through 10 meter SSB, CW, RTTY
and PSK31. QSL direct to home calls or via JARL bureau.

09/20/2002:  Tony, WF1N, and Lou, W1DIG, will be active from Isles of
Shoals, Appledore Island (IOTA NA-217, USI NH-new, USA-CA Rockingham County,
NH) and lighthouse (ARLHS USA-406) starting 19:00 UTC September 20 until
12:00 UTC September 23, 2002. Operation will be on 40, 20, 17, 15 and 10
meters, SSB, on/near the usual IOTA freqs +/- QRM, with a tribander, wires
and amp. QSL direct (sae and postage, please) or bureau via home calls.
Tony, WF1N ([EMAIL PROTECTED]), and Lou, W1DIG ([EMAIL PROTECTED]), will
accept requests for bureau cards via email. Email requests do not require a
card to them via the bureau.

09/20/2002:  Max/ON5UR, Karel/ON5TN and Wim/ON6NP will be active September
20 to 23, 2002, (on all HF bands and 6 metres) as XU7AUR from Koh Poah
