I.C.P.O. (Islands, Castles & Portable Operations) Update 09/21/2002: Tom, 9A2AA, and Neno, 9A7N, have plans to operate from Sestrica Island (IOTA EU-170, IOCA CI-103) Lighthouse (WLH LH-1084, ARLHS CRO-015) on September 21st, starting at 12:00 UTC. The calls of the 2 operators while on the island will be 9A2AA/P and 9A7N/P. There are several island lighthouses with this name of Sestrica but this operation should be the first activation for WLH for this particular lighthouse. [tnx W9DC]
09/23/2002: The Association Radioamateur Maritime Italian (ARMI#001) will activate the lighthouse Faro di Punta San Raineri (WAIL SI-002, ARLHS ITA-143), Sicily Island (IOTA EU-025, IIA SC-001), between September 23rd and 27th. The call will be IT9MRM/9 and operation will be SSB only, 40 through 10 meters. The lighthouse is located in the Region of Sicilia (SI), Province of Messina (ME). QSL via IT9MRM, direct only (Albert Mattei, P.O.Box 28, Donnalucata 97010 (RG), Sicily Island - ITALY or Via Megara 376, Augusta 96011 (SR), Sicily Island - ITALY). Operation will be on on all bands, including 6 meters. Location will be Cape of Pinida, beside Otok Brijun Veli Rt Pinida lighthouse (WLH LH-1651, ARLHS CRO-010). QSL via home calls.
