I.C.P.O. (Islands, Castles & Portable Operations)
Update -
===============================================

23/03/2003: Special event station CS5M will be active March 23rd to
celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Village of Moscavide. Operation will
be on all bands and modes, propagation permitting, between 09:00 and 18:00
UTC. A special commemorative QSL card will be available to all stations
contacted. Visit their web site at http://www.qsl.net/arvm/ for further
information. [Tnx A.R.V.M.]

24/03/2003: Kas, YL1ZFI / C53ZF, will go to The Gambia March 24th to take a
part in WPX-SSB contest. He plans to be active from The Gambia for two
weeks. Kas will also try to work from Fort James Island and also activate
the lighthouse there (reference GAM-002). To indicate that he is on the
island Kas will sign /p to his Gambian callsign. If you hear him without /p
then he is located at the hotel in Banjul and not on the island. The group
callsigns C56R, C53M (and possible C5M, but not sure at the moment) are
issued to Gambian-Latvian team, also. QSL via YL1ZFI. [Tnx YL1ZFI]

31/03/2003: Ronald PA3EWP, Dick PA3FQA and Rob PA5ET, all members of the
Low Land DX-pedition Team, will activate the Faroe Islands (EU-018) on all
HF bands 10-160 meter CW, SSB, RTTY, PSK31 and some SSTV. They will have 2x
FT1000Mp's around the clock with 2 Alpha Amplifiers and will use 2 quads for
10 through 30 meters, a vertical for 40 meters and the Titanex V80e and
V160e for 80 and 160 meter. The callsigns will be: OY7ET (op: PA5ET), OY7QA
(op: PA3FQA), OY7TW (op: GM4FDM), OY7WB (op: AK0A) and OY7WP (op: PA3EWP).
The call OY8PA will be used for 80 and 160 meters, as well as the digital
modes. All QSL's will be handled by the LLDXT QSL Manager PA5ET: Rob
Snieder, Van Leeuwenstraat 137, 2273 VS Voorburg, The Netherlands. The
activity will take place between March 31st and April 10th, 2003. It is not
likely they will have on-line logs unless it is easy to get an Internet
account. [Tnx PA5ET]

02/04/2003: Members of the Scouts Radio Club SP5ZCC (SP5UAF, SP5LCC, SP5MBQ
and SP5ULC/M0ULC) will be active from Guernsey Island (EU-114). Period of
activity: April 2nd through 8th. This operation is organized to celebrate 23
years of the Scouts Radio Club SP5ZCC and also 70th Anniversary SP DX
Contest. Call-signs to be used: MU/SP5UAF, MU/SP5LCC, MU/SP5MBQ and MU0ULC.
The call MU0ULC will be used during SP DX Contest. SPDXC is a single-country
contest (SP HAMs work stations outside Poland) but all calls will be
answered. Before and after the contest operators will be active on all
possible bands and modes. All QSL cards (for all call-signs) go via SP5ZCC
(the best way is via the buresu). [Tnx SP5UAF]

17/08/2003: The North Wales Radio Rally Club, Bardsey Island Lighthouse
Dxpedition 2003, will take place from August 17th until August 23rd. They
will be using the call sign GW0NWR/p. Operation will be on 80 through 6
meter SSB and CW, no VHF as the site is not good enough to support VHF
activity. The references are: Bardsey Island (IOTA EU-124) and lighthouse
(LH-0685 for the World Lighthouse Award, WAL-001). QSL via GW0DSJ (E.
Shipton, 34 Argoed, Kinmel Bay, Rhyl, Conwy, LL18 5LN, Wales, UK) with IRCs'
or return envelope with postage paid. [Tnx GW0DSJ]
