I'm using Saucy, and there is no longer any reasonable way to disable bluetoothd. I don't use Gnome or Unity, so I cannot use indicator- bluethooth. BUM (Boot-Up Manager) no longer works either.
There are multiple references to editing /etc/rc.local, but this is a very hackish method. I understand that bluetooth has become extremely common, but I don't have any bluetooth technology on my computer. I realize that this is not bluetooth-indicator, but it may be the root cause of the issue: meaning someone changed something in bluetoothd, Upstart, or whatever starts the daemon that affects all projects that try to control the daemon. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of DX Packages, which is subscribed to indicator-bluetooth in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1217278 Title: Doesn't actually disable bluetooth Status in “indicator-bluetooth” package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: If I uncheck "bluetooth" in the indicator, bluetooth is not disabled as shown by gnome-control-center's bluetooth capplet and my phone.
