You have been subscribed to a public bug: Waking from Sleep, Wireless Connections resume without delay, but the Ethernet connection does not reactivate unless forced by command or by rebooting the system. the interface (very) occasionally resumes properly, but the reported condition occurs >80% of the time with current Ubuntu Release amd64 kernel. Re-plugging the network cable has no apparent effect.
