Apparently you used the "problem with storage device" bug reporting symptom, but what you are talking about is the organization of applications in the unity shell. I'm fairly sure that the Unity designers will call this a "won't fix", as it's not intended to add arbitrary categories. However, note that you can browse by category (including "Games") with the "Filter..." functionality in the dashboard's top right.
** Summary changed: - No permission to access files on storage device + Organize programs in folders in dashboard ** Package changed: udisks2 (Ubuntu) => unity (Ubuntu) ** Changed in: unity (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of DX Packages, which is subscribed to unity in Ubuntu. Matching subscriptions: dx-packages https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1291481 Title: Organize programs in folders in dashboard Status in “unity” package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: Sorry but it is very annoying that I am not allowed to copy programs to the dashboard. I cant copy programs to folders I want to place as toolboxes om the dashboard to ease the use of functional programs. The left program starter is filled with too many programs. Games I would like to store in a game folder. EVD handling in another Writing in it own and so forth. But I am not allowed to get information about "/" so that a copy operation can be done. The same malfunction exists in 14.04 I am VERY SAD about this. It worked fine in my 12.04 instalation. I have seen this described somewhere a while ago - cant remember where. Hoped it would be fixed - but not until now.
