Thank you for linking to the workaround for disabling suspend. Please note however that this bug here is not about completely disabling suspend (we know how to do that). It is all about just disabling the suspend menuitem in the session indicator for users who should not suspend accidentally. 2014-06-06 10:57 GMT+02:00 vmerlet <1299...@bugs.launchpad.net>: > *** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1310845 *** > https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1310845 > > I think it's a duplicate of this bug : > https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/systemd/+bug/1310845 > > In policykit, you should use "login1" instead of "upower", there is an > exemple in this one : > https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/policykit/+bug/1300460 > > ** This bug has been marked a duplicate of bug 1310845 > systemd-logind is not honoring polickykit rules for > suspend/reboot/shutdown > > -- > You received this bug notification because you are subscribed to the bug > report. > https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1299753 > > Title: > Menuitem `suspend' has no dconf key to be suppressed > > Status in "indicator-session" package in Ubuntu: > Confirmed > > Bug description: > Unlike other menuitems we can not suppress `suspend' menuitem in > indicator-session with an easy to maintain dconf key. > > This appears to be important because we can no longer use policykit do > disable suspend. Matching subscriptions: dx-packages https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1299753 Title: Menuitem `suspend' has no dconf key to be suppressed Status in “indicator-session” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: Unlike other menuitems we can not suppress `suspend' menuitem in indicator-session with an easy to maintain dconf key. This appears to be important because we can no longer use policykit do disable suspend. At present there is no easy way to disable suspending on systems where users should not suspend, or where suspend does not work. In addition, the close proximity of `suspend', `log-out', and `shutdown' items may lead to an unwanted suspend in those systems.
