  Ubuntu top left icon is not displayed

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: unity

  There is no ubuntu icon visible in the top left corner, see the image 
attached to understand what im talking about.
  In fact when i play with the top panel transparency in 
compizconfig-settingsmanager, i can see the ubuntu icon under the window 
menu/title, but can not interact with it... pretty annoying...
  Using ubuntu natty with latest updates on a toshiba t230 (intel hd graphics)
