having all windows manually minimized is not the same as activating the show desktop mode, unsure that's a valid report...

In System Settings -> Appearance -> "Behavior" tab, enable "Add show desktop icon to the launcher" checkbox. (This make the problem easier to observe, but you may test it with Alt-Tab switcher instead.) 2. Open some windows. 3. Minimize windows one by one by clicking the minimize [ _ ] button on the window title bar. 4. Mouse over the Show Desktop icon on the Unity launcher, its label should read "Restore Windows" now but it's "Show Desktop". Also, clicking on the button should restore the windows instead of doing nothing.
