Yes the applications have to be fixed, but I seriously hope that the
behaviour of notify-osd will be changed for the release. Otherwise I
foresee many many complaints about broken applications developers have
never heard about...

Status in Canonical's Notification Display Agent: New
Bug description:
For each song change in Banshee, a new dialog appears on screen with buttons
Skip, Cancel, OK. The title of the window is "notify-sharp".
Expected: an *unobtrusive* notification in the same new style, with song title
and album artwork, just without the Skip action.
No matter how "wrong" the applications are, the new notification daemon should
handle their notifications "correctly". Show them as before or pretend to
handle and ignore them, but do not let them fall back to something demanding
attention and action like dialogs.
