I just found another symptom of this bug, and it's a bit more serious. If a regular sync notification bubble pops up during the async bubble fade out it will be shown below (as if there were two notifications displayed). If another async bubble shows up then, it will overlap the already displayed bubble. See the attached screenshot.
Steps to reproduce: 1. Change brightness and the notification shows up. 2. As soon as notification starts to fade-out use notify-send to display another notification. Brightness notification will fade but the notify-send one will be displayed below it. 3.
