Bug description:
Binary package hint: metacity
Without composting, notifications with notify-osd really don't look great.
Currently we detect if the hardware can support compiz, and if so enable
compiz. If not, fall back to metacity.
Perhaps we should do another check to see if composting is supported, even if
compiz isn't. If it is, enable composting in metacity, if not fall back to
non-composting metacity.
