Brightness notification works only with Human Icons
--
Notify-OSD is incompatible with some iconsets
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/346171
You received this bug notification because you are a member of Notify
OSD Developers, which is subscribed to Notify OSD (via bug 344385).
Status in “notify-osd” source package in Ubuntu: New
Bug description:
Binary package hint: notify-osd
When using Notify-OSD with the Human theme, everything works just fine and
dandy.
However, when using other icon sets there are variable errors with Notify-OSD's
brightness and volume meters:
1. Black bubbles appear with no content (for brightness and volume)
2. No bubbles (for brightness and volume)
3. Bubble appears for volume but has wrong icon (the GNOME icon, not the
standard iconset-neutral one) and none appears for brightness.
(these are just those that I have observed)
I have previously tackled this problem by taking the Human icon theme and
replacing its icons with the ones I want and then editing the index.theme.
Obviously, this is not the way we want Notify-OSD to work.
Tested on an up-to-date build of Ubuntu 9.04 Alpha 6 as of 20:00 Eastern March
20, 2009
