Sorry, that wasn't really helpful. Here's a small screencast showing the behavior I'm talking about.
** Attachment added: "crash.ogv" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/25040757/crash.ogv -- Persistent chats in Pidgin cause unexpected behavior https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/352495 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Indicator Applet Developers, which is the registrant for Indicator Applet. Status in Indicator Applet: Incomplete Bug description: When using Pidgin with Indicator Applet while the Pidgin system tray icon is hidden (that's the point of Indicator Applet, right?), persistent conversations create some very bad behavior. First, Pidgin suddenly ignores the fact that I've asked it not to use tabbed conversation windows and presents them to me in that manner anyway. This isn't that big of a deal IMO. Second, two of the tabs that are presented to me are persistent IRC chats. When I try to close one of those tabs, it is instantly recreated as a new tab. If I try to close the window, this begins happening recursively (destroying and recreating the persistent chat tabs) and eventually Pidgin crashes. The expected behavior under these circumstances would be how Pidgin behaves when not using Indicator Applet when closing a persistent conversation window. In that case, the conversation is simply hidden and continues to be logged and monitored for usage of one's nickname in the background. _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~dx-team Post to : [email protected] Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~dx-team More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
