David, A USB to RS-232 port converter gets my vote! I have a 4S,2P ISA board from ByteRunner and it worked great until the last upgrade. Couldn't get it working and never have figured out why - maybe the board died. Anyhow, its days were numbered as most of the new motherboards don't have any ISA slots. Anyhow, I decided to avoid the IRQ, no open PCI slots, etc., merry-go-round and bought a USB to 4-port RS-232 adapter. It is self powered so it will work with USB equipped laptops when 110 is available. Doesn't use any slots or IRQs and has worked flawlessly for me. Know several other folks on the reflector are using them too and don't think they are having any problems either. I do, however, make a point to use a real serial port for rig keying (PTT, CW, FSK). Don't know if timing for those functions would be an iussue on the converted ports or not. Installation was about as close to painless as you can get. So now I have my 2 original serial ports, a 4-port USB expander (self powered) plugged into one USB port, and a 4-port serial adapter (self powered) plugged into the other USB port. Bought mine from ByteRunner. Only way to fly.

I would appreciate any recommendations for a PCI multiport com board for use with DX4WIN.
