I have a ICOM 751 (not the 'A' version) with a new
Piexx UX-14PX CI-V interface.

Having the following problems with DX4WIN V6.02 under Windows 2000 and a =
USB to Serial Port Converter (Belkin):

1. The ICOM 751 (not 'A') is about 25 years old.
2.. I had the older EX-309 interface in it, but I never
       used it.

3. I just installed a new OEM UX-14PX from Piexx
and it works just fine with address '1C' and another
test application called 'CI-V Commander' with
      Baud rate set to 9600.

Commander and Read and Write to it, change bands
       and generally works perfectly.

Using an IBM Thinkpad R30 laptop with a USB to Serial port
Converter from Belkin under Windows 2000.

4. The DX4WIN V6.02 application appears to READ
from the unit the first time it comes up.....subsequent
READS or attempting to WRITE results in a
time-out and DX4WIN shuts down the radio interface.

5. If you can pass this one, here is the DX4WIN V6.02
results of going into Database/Radio and doing
a TEST of a READ and WRITE:

Problem seems to be in trying to WRITE to the ICOM 751..

Here is the RADIO TEST for RECEIVE::

ICOM 751 Date =3D 03/27/04
Load Field: Mode; L=3DOther D=3DN
Cmd: Read Mode
Send:
  FE FE 1C E0 04 FD
Echo:
  FE FE 1C E0 04 FD
Received:
  FE FE E0 1C 04 00 01 FD
Integer Read: Mode; V=3D0
Load Field: Current VFO; L=3DVFO A&B D=3DN
Cmd: Read VFO A
Send:
  FE FE 1C E0 03 FD
Echo:
  FE FE 1C E0 03 FD
Received:
  FE FE E0 1C 03 70 35 19
  07 00 FD
Integer Read: Current VFO; V=3D7193570
Last error =3D 0

And here is the WRITE TEST:

ICOM 751 Date =3D 03/27/04
Cmd: Set Split off
Send:
  FE FE 1C E0 0F 00 FD
Echo:
Received:
  FE FE 1C E0 0F 00 FD

The WRITE test fails with a time out.
DX4WIN says Radio timed out and it shut down the radio interface.

Any suggestions?
