I am using a KAM "all mode" TNC with DX4WIN for my packet spots off of my 2 meter rig. I'm confused as to what I need to do to send a message to the TNC or the packet cluster??? Many times when I do "sh/dx/10" to get the last 10 spots the KAM comes back with ($ EH cmd:) and nothing happens? I believe I am in the (talk to KAM) mode??? I do see a CMD: and this seems to be asking for a TNC command. How do I tell DX4WIN in the lower part of the "packet window" when I want to send a message to the packet or the TNC itself? I also noted that if I press "control-C" or "control-D" that I get a "immediate" at the top of the packet window. What is the meaning of this? I'd like to go between the two "talk to" modes when I want to. I couldn't find anything in the manual that explains this. Thanks. I think I figured out how to toggle between the transparent (send messages to the packet), and command, (send messages to the KAM), modes. By reading the KAM manual I was able to figure out how to do this. Three "control-C" enters the command mode, conversely sending a "t" exits the command mode and enters the transparent mode. Does this sound like what others are doing when using the KAM with DX4WIN??? Thanks. George From [EMAIL PROTECTED] Thu Dec 1 14:53:05 2005 From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] (A. When you have a command prompt just type k<CR> and that will put you in converse mode. When in converse mode enter "control-C' to return to command mode. When you first connect to the cluster it should go to converse mode automatically. If not, you can use the CONMode command to set what mode it is in after a connect.. 73, Alan N5NA George K wrote: > I think I figured out how to toggle between the transparent (send messages to > the packet), and command, (send messages to the KAM), modes. > By reading the KAM manual I was able to figure out how to do this. > Three "control-C" enters the command mode, conversely sending a "t" exits the > command mode and enters the transparent mode. > Does this sound like what others are doing when using the KAM with DX4WIN??? > Thanks. > George > _______________________________________________ > Dx4win mailing list > Dx4win@mailman.qth.net > http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win > >
