A few days ago I sent a message asking for help on why the Function Key buttons in the MMTTY window showed +1 - +8, rather than the standard 1-8. Through the persistence and efforts of N5TY, here is what was learned. We hope you find this useful.
The basic functionality of the Function Keys shown in the Packet, CW, PSK31 or MMTTY windows is as follows: * The default view is 1-8 along with any identifier that is added. * By selecting any of the four windows, the corresponding function buttons in that window can be 'mouse-clicked' and the selected message will be sent. * By depressing the Control key, the corresponding function buttons change to +1-+8 along with each identifier (if assigned). The buttons can then be 'mouse-clicked' and the selected control message will be sent. * The Control keys can be locked into position by the following key strokes: o Select a window (Packet, CW, PSK31 or MMTTY). o Depress the Control key. o Right mouse click next to the function key buttons. o Select Edit Function Keys from the drop down menu. o Check the Control key box. o Release the Control key. o Click 'OK'. o +1-+8 will remain visible. o Control messages can then be sent via mouse-clicks. o Press any Function key to restore buttons to '1-8'.
