You need to adjust the start and end dates for those countries that have
changed identities such as the YU.

To do so, close your log file leaving DX4Win running. Select File,
Databases, Countries. Locate the old Yugoslavia and enter the start and end
dates that match the current countries list. Then find Serbia and enter the
correct start date.

After saving the changes, by doing File, Save changes and Exit from the
countries change window, re-open your log file. Find the QSOs in question
and make sure that you have the correct countries selected for those qsos.

For the PY0, you need to enter the correct prefix for F de N, which is PY0F.
If you click on the prefix field and press F1, a listing of countries and
the correct prefixes pops up.

Subject: [Dx4win] dx4win vs ARRL: country conflicts

Hi all,

I may yet find an answer in either the help file or the user guide. But
thought it fine to ask here in the mean time. I've been entering old QSOs
from as far back as 30 years ago (egads!!), and I've come up with a couple
of conflicts I'm not sure how to resolve:

I've a few cards for QSOs made with YU stations when they counted for
Yugoslovia. But dx4w insists on showing it as Serbia and Montenegro...

I've also got a card for a Q with PY1RO/PY0, Fernando de Noronha. But the
software insists it counts as Brasil.

In neither of these cases is the software allowing me to enter the correct
country names via the QSO window. So I decided to unearth my copy of the
DXCC list that was enclosed with my DXCC from the ARRL back in early 1981.
Sure enough, YU2OB (and others of the era) does indeed show credited as
Yugoslovia, and PY1RO/PY0 as F de N.

So far, these have been the only incidences I've seen of the country name
not updating (er... reverting) to what it should be after I've put in the
QSO date.

I'm using 7.02.15 here and am just about as sure as I can be that I've got
the most current country list installed.

Any and all thoughts and comments are appreiciated.
