Larry,
Normally his baudrate should be at 9600 baud in the radio setup and dx4win
Tried to simulate this behavior here but donĀ“t have the problem
Mine is connected via the serial port on the back with CI-V for RS-232c
function
CI-V is on, tried also off

Onderwerp: [Dx4win] Icom 7800 VFO readings not working with DX4Win 7.0702

A new user of DX4Win, W8TE, is trying to get his new CI-V cable [the popular

one from eBay] working properly with the latest rev of DX4Win. His 7800 is
firmware rev v210, and he's running the CI-V setting at 4800 baud with the
transceive setting = "off". He has the Contest Mode set for "$$" so his
Notes field should contain the 7800 frequency - when it works properly.
About 30% of his QSOs record the right freq, but the other 70% show the
frequency as "471,417". If he opens DX4Win's ">Radio > Set Frequency"
window, he can see it jumping between accurately reading the VFO and this
weird "471,417" number. (He upgraded from DX4Win 7.05 to 7.06 to 7.07... all

of which showed similar results). Other features of the CI-V interface, like

jumping to a double-clicked packet spot with the correct frequency and mode,

are working correctly.

His contesting software, N1MM, always reads the VFO correctly.

Is there anyone out there with a v210 7800 who can shed some light on this
for us?
