Mike,

You mention Windows 95, but not which version of Dx4Win?

95? My first suggestion would be that you donate that PC to a museum somewhere...

Although I have a Winkeyer USB now, I successfully operated LPT CW with DX4Win years ago and it worked very well. I do not recall the specific combination of Windows and Dx4Win versions, but I do remember that at some rev level Paul added code for LPT port management via a PORTMAP.INI file in the /SAVE directory.

I also do not remember how to inspect Windows 95 to check for assigned addresses of your LPT ports (was there a Control Panel and Device Manager in 95?) . BUT when you figure that out you create a PORTMAP.INI file using Notepad in /SAVE that might looks like this:
"
[LPTMAP]
LPT1=$E800
LPT2=
LPT3=$EC00
"
Hope this helps,

Subject: [Dx4win] DX4WIN not keying

"More details" and then some!

Interface: LPT-1
Win 95
DX4win; not Winkey

"and then some": To compound the problem I read about a conflict with LPT
ports and Dx4WIN. I installed that software only to find out it was meant
for Win 7 users; not Win95 users.
Now DX4Win "cannot find LPT1, 2 and 3.

What is mysterious to me is that I can hear my CW in the computer; but no
keying taking place.

Mumble, mumble, mumble..
