When I moved DX4WIN from Win 7 to Win 8.1, I reinstalled DX4WIN, put in the license file and then run the Dx4WIN Updater made by AD1C.
I have all my log files in Dropbox and I can access them from different computers. DX4WIN looks normal after that operation. Do you have some screen dump that you can link to? Everything went well except that I now have no colors in any of the borders except the one I am using, which is light blue. They are all very, very light gray. Is there anything I can do to have all of the borders light blue with the one I am using dark blue as in Win XP?
